"Run For Jackson"  -- We Need YOU!

Hogeye Marathon and Relays

The Hogeye Marathon is a great opportunity to show your support for the Foundation and have a little fun. Whether you would rather walk the 5K, run in a relay race or hand out water to runners, we have a spot for you! In addition, the Foundation is a recipient of some of the proceeds from the Hogeye Marathon, so encourage everyone to participate and pay those entry fees!

You may check out the course on the Hogeye website

IF YOU RUN OR WALK: We are calling all runners to sign up for any of the events: 5K, Relays (about a 10K per person), Half Marathon, or Full Marathon. We can help you find other runners for a relay team if you are interested. The relay is a great way to participate in the marathon for those who want to run further than a 3K, but less than the half marathon!  Or, you can choose to run or walk an individual race like a 5K, half marathon, or full marathon. Walking the 5K will take less than an hour so anyone can do it!

We are asking that all runners gather pledges for the Foundation prior to the race--even as little as $1/mile will be important! We have found that $5/mile or $10/mile are common goals. We are encouraging a goal of $100 per runner. And remember, we receive some of the funds from the Hogeye, so even your entry fee helps us. In fact, we receive points for the number of folks who enter as a runner for the Foundation.  So be sure to note on your entry form that you are running for the Jackson L. Graves Foundation.  All runners will receive a free Foundation Dri-Max running shirt to wear during the race!

Runners, to aid in your fundraising efforts, we have launched a new site that will serve as a much easier means of collecting donations than our paper pledge form.  Go to the link below and click on the FUNDRAISING button.  From there you can create your own fundraising page and all funds donated will come to the Foundation.  You can create a team page or a separate page for each individual runner.

Jackson L. Graves Foundation Fundraising Page

If you'd rather do it the old-fashioned way, download the pledge form here. Be sure each person making a pledge provides all information listed on the form.  Each donor's check must be made to the Jackson L. Graves Foundation to receive tax benefits.  Please mail the form and all pledges to P.O. Box 572, Fayetteville, AR within one week after your race.  If you would like to donate and you are not a runner, please email us or call us to make your pledge.

All runners are able to register online this year - including relay teams.  If you are running on behalf of the Foundation (especially relay teams), please email us at mitzi@jacksongraves.org and let us know your team name and running shirt sizes.  We must submit a list of those running on our behalf to receive credit.  It may also help to name your team in reference to the Foundation.  Early bird registration for all runners ends on March 11.  After this date, fees increase slightly and you will not be guaranteed your requested shirt size.

IF YOU DO NOT RUN: For you non-runners out there, we would love for you to volunteer. Our volunteers will be working as road guards directing runners - a great opportunity for Foundation visibility. We are required to provide a certain number of volunteers for the Hogeye since we are a recipient of the proceeds - and the more volunteers we have, the more money we'll get! We'll give you a Foundation t-shirt or hat if you don't already have one! You can even bring the kids with you! The available volunteer shifts will be around 7:00 AM - 10:30 AM, or 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM.  When we know the exact times, we'll let you know.  Let us know which one you prefer!
